Policies / Frequently Asked Questions

Payment - A deposit of $50.00 is required to reserve a date for a small event.  For larger events or events on national holidays, a 50% deposit is required to hold the date.  The deposit is non-refundable for any reason unless the event is cancelled two weeks prior to the reserved date or cancelled due to bad weather.  Payment in full is due on the day of the event.  We accept cash, check and money orders.  Credit card payments are accepted via Paypal, but need to be made prior to the day of the event.

Weather - When rain or snow is in the forecast, we continually monitor the weather.  We will maintain communication throughout the day to inform you if we will be able to deliver the equipment and ponies.  If we are unable to deliver due to wind, rain, snow or muddy conditions, we will work with you to reschedule to another date within three months of the original reservation date.  Deposit may be applied to the rescheduled date.  However, if you decide to cancel or reschedule after Perfect Pony Rides has arrived on the reserved date, a $75.00 cancellation/rescheduling fee will be due immediately and the deposit will not be refunded.

Cancellations - Understanding that certain circumstances deem cancellation necessary, we ask that any cancellations be made at least 72 hours before your reservation date, if possible.  If you cancel your event at least two weeks prior to your reservation date, your deposit will be refunded.

Working Area - To host the pony sweep, an area of at least 28 feet wide and 28 feet long is necessary, as the diameter of the "live carousel" is 24 feet.  Ponies work best on grass, dirt, concrete, etc., but not on rocks, sand or steep slopes.  Ponies cannot work on any area that has been chemically treated (fertilizer or insecticide) within the previous 7 days due to danger to the animals.

Rider Safety - As a general rule, pony riders should weigh 80 pounds or less.  If you believe several riders will be more than 80 pounds, we can discuss accomodations for larger riders, as it can put too much stress on the smaller ponies.  No double riding.  All riders under two-years of age must have a guardian walk next to them.  In fact, we encourage a parent or guardian to walk next all riders to join in the fun!

Pony Safety - For larger events, we surround the pony sweep (live carousel) with portable fencing to prevent children from coming too close to the ponies while the pony ride is in operation.  We ask that any dogs, cats or other pets be confined to a separate area during the pony rides.  We are proud of our ponies and take steps necessary to maintain their good health and welfare.  They are given water and allowed to rest 15 minutes for every two hours they are at work.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

1) How many ponies do I need for my event?

How many ponies you need depends on how many guests you have attending your event and how often you want them to ride.  Please contact us to discuss your function, and together we can figure out what you need to best entertain your guests.

2) What if we have older children or adults who want to ride?

We have a variety of animals in our stable, some of which are quite large!  We are sometimes asked to bring a larger horse to accommodate all guests.  Please contact us to discuss these options.

3) Is there a mess?

Perfect Pony Rides will make every effort to clean any mess made by our ponies prior to our departure.

4) How far do you travel?

In general, we cover much of northeastern Oklahoma.  Please call us to discuss your event.  There are times when we are available to travel outside of our normal areas.  Additional costs may apply.
